LOYOLA FILM CIRCLE, Ateneo de Manila University’s premiere film organization, is proud to present an out-of-this-world film competition the country will ever see! The Ateneo Video Open, now on its thirteenth year, is an annual nationwide film competition open to collegiate-level filmmakers.
The event aims to highlight the effective use of aesthetically pleasing films as media for social discourse. There are four categories: short narrative, music video, documentary, and experimental. The competition would end in an awards night where cash prizes await winners of each category judged by renowned persons in the field of film and art. This year, the Ateneo Video Open is recognizing the country’s unique and diverse culture that molds its film industry. To showcase this culture, the language of the film is open to any indigenous dialect (non-contemporary Filipino/English entries are required to be subtitled). The AVO Committee is HIGHLY encouraging the participants as they will be eligible to win as Best Indigenous Language Narrative and additional cash prize.
Visit the official website: http://ateneovideoopen13.tumblr.com to view the rules, regulations and mechanics. Application forms are also available in the website. Deadline of entries is on January 20. 2012. For inquiries, contact the AVO Team at ateneovideoopen13@yahoo.com.ph. For any inquiries, feel free to contact Will Fernandez at 09175358025 or Hanna Abdulrahman at 09178526145.
